Corlan Bridge Club
http://bridge.corlan.net/rss.xml
RSS channel with news and changes on this site.
This site collects a set of resources on contract bridge developed by loose group of people
who sometimes gather to play together. `Corlan' is the name of the family which
usually hosts the meetings. Our best recollections indicate
that it all started around 1991.
The `autovaca' probabilities simulator
An online calculator of the probability of having any unknown card,
color or point length in each hand, starting from known cards and
information learned during the bidding.
Source code is also available.
Result forms, bidding boxes, etc
This site is actually a demo of the TeX/LaTeX technology but it has a couple
of potentially useful forms we use and which you might find useful too.
Pages of our friends and adversaries
- www.pub.ro, in reality the acronim of
the 'Public University of Bridge', a huge bridge club from
Bucharest (literally, thousands of people spending most of their time
playing bridge), otherwise disguised as a technical university (;)).
Great place to learn the game for the serious and dedicated
player. Some math required for admission. Knowledge of Romanian
also somewhat recommended. Most of the members of our group have received
their diploma from the pub.
- vang's wiki
with conventions he usually claims to play (Viorel Anghel, a.k.a. vang
is the 'va' in the autoVAca analysis).
- Floater and bridge mania
maintained by Andrei Caraman, a.k.a. Xax
(the 'ca' from the autovaCA analysis).
- The society for the probabilistic
study of contract bridge (in Romanian), a small virtual society
dedicated to such issues.
- The Catania Bridge Club
maintained by Luigi Salemi.
- Infobridge for italian
speakers with an interesting page on bridge probabilities.
